Bargain de Jacob

Description
Jacob tends a steaming pot over an open fire while Esau, dressed as a rugged hunter with spear, bow, and quiver, reaches toward him in hunger. The encampment of tents and livestock places the moment within the patriarchal household of Isaac, where an ordinary meal becomes a turning point in covenant history. The bowl of stew at the fire recalls the account in Genesis 25, when Esau, exhausted from the field, trades his birthright to Jacob for food. The scene emphasizes the spiritual weight of appetite, inheritance, and rash decision-making: Esau treats the privilege of the firstborn as something expendable, while Jacob presses the bargain that will shape the story of Israel. This artwork is suited for teaching on Genesis, family conflict, covenant promises, discipleship, temptation, and the consequences of despising spiritual inheritance.
